How to Check Performance Part Fitment Before Ordering

Automotive Performance Parts Direct

Choosing the right performance part starts with the exact application. A matching vehicle name or a similar-looking component is a useful starting point, but it is not enough to confirm that a part will fit your particular build.

1. Record the vehicle and engine details

Have the make, model, model year, engine code and transmission details ready. Where relevant, also record the drivetrain, body style, trim and existing brake or suspension package. If the vehicle has been modified, identify the parts currently fitted rather than relying only on its original specification.

2. Compare the manufacturer part number

Use the manufacturer's part number when comparing a product with its application information or installation instructions. Similar product names may cover different sizes, positions or supplied contents. If a listing does not make the part number or application clear, ask us to confirm it before ordering.

3. Read the supplied contents

Check whether the price covers one component, a pair, an axle set or a complete kit. A component box for a lift kit may require other boxes or supporting parts. A clutch disc listing does not automatically include a pressure plate, flywheel or release bearing.

4. Check the measurements that matter

  • For wheels, compare diameter, width, offset, bolt pattern and centre bore with the application requirements.
  • For clutch discs, check disc diameter, spline details and the intended flywheel and pressure-plate combination.
  • For hoses and fittings, match connection sizes, thread types, sealing methods and fluid compatibility.
  • For suspension parts, check the axle position, mounting arrangement and any supporting components listed by the manufacturer.

Use the manufacturer's current instructions for installation and component selection. If a required dimension or compatibility detail is missing, confirm it before purchase.

5. Confirm availability and lead time

Check the product's availability and contact us about special-order or out-of-stock items before ordering. See our delivery information for processing and delivery guidance. Contact us before booking installation if your order is needed for a particular date.

6. Ask for help with the exact listing

Send us the product link or part number together with your vehicle and engine details, the work you are planning and any relevant modifications. Photos of labels or the existing component can help us identify what needs checking.
