Most people believe that the tang inside a valve lock holds the retainer and valve spring in place while the engine is running, but this isn't the case. The cross-section of material in the tang is not strong enough to withstand open spring loads of 1000 lbs. or more. The sole purpose of the tang is to temporarily locate the lock, retainer and spring relative to the valve until the taper of the retainer can nest around the outside surface of the lock. This creates a collet effect that binds the two together. The more spring force exerted on the retainer (as the valve opens), the more force applied by the collet effect to keep the retainer and lock in place. With the emergence of valve sizes other than the standard 5/16", 11/32" and 3/8", it is important to make sure the valve locks match the valve size. There should always be a small gap between the two halves of the lock when they are properly positioned on the valve stem. If the two halves fit together without a gap, they are too large. If the locks fit tight to the stem and leave a gap between the middle of the lock and the O.D. of the stem, the locks are too small. Our line of stock replacement 7 valve locks for stock engine rebuilds are recommended only for street applications with lighter valve spring loads and are stamped and hardened for superior wear resistance. Also available are machined 7 locks and titanium Super 7 Locks for some applications. They offer the same valve spring location accuracy as our Super Locks without the need to change to 10 degree retainers. User 1

This company lies to you. Ordered a 02 sensor from APPD for my C7 Vette. Paid the highest possible courier service for the fastest possible shipping from Newcastle to France. I needed the part urgently. Ordered at the weekend and called them Monday to confirm all was in hand and explained the part was required urgently. Response from APPD yes we've recieved the order and will ship as soon as its been processed. Called every day for the next 7 days to be told yes its been shipped and this is the shipping number. Turned out it took them till Friday ..5 days later to post it and then the package lay at the courier another week or so. APPD lied to me throughout this whole transaction. The package cleared customs in 2 days and should have been with me in just over week and not over 4 weeks. APPD offereed the postage refunded after I had to start a PAYPAL dispute.. This should have been a straight forward simple part delivery. When it goes wrong you shouldn't lie to your customer. A serious compay would refund the customer not try to fuzz the truth and blame everyone else. I refused the postage delivery refund so you can buy some honesty pills and discuss with your team how to avoid more negative service feedback. If your thinking of ordering parts from APPD scroll on and find another supplier. You dont need or want the hassle of dealing with these people.

Over a month waiting on parts and all I get is it will scan soon week after week. Reordered from US so I could finish build and same parts arrived in one week. Waiting to see if they will refund??

placed an order for parts 13th of feb, all listed in stock, got shipping update for label created on the 16th of feb. I have still not received what I ordered and paid for, no updates. I have been getting the same generic answer "order will be fulfilled today" for nearly 2 months now when trying to enquire. Quite disappointing as I have been unable to finish off my car due to waiting on the final fuel system parts for over 2 months now.

I initially ordered the wrong part but managed to change the order before it was sent out. Lovely product Really well made.
